Former Westpac exec joins ANZ Board

Ms Atlas is a director of Coca-Cola Amatil Limited, Westfield Corporation Limited and Treasury Corporation of New South Wales.

Ms Atlas was formerly a director of Suncorp Group Limited. She is chairman of Bell Shakespeare Company.

Previously, Ms Atlas was a senior executive at Westpac Banking Corporation where she was group executive, people, with responsibility for human resources, corporate affairs and sustainability.

Prior to that role, she was group secretary and general counsel at Westpac and formerly a partner in law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now known as King & Wood Mallesons).

“I am delighted to have Ilana join the ANZ Board,” Mr Gonski said.

“Her background in financial services, human resources and the law will further strengthen the board,” he said.

Ms Atlas will join the ANZ Board on September 24 and will stand for election as a director at ANZ’s annual general meeting in December 2014.
