ANZ names acting CFO

ANZ has announced the appointment of an acting chief financial officer following the promotion of Shayne Elliott to chief executive.

Graham Hodges, who is the bank’s deputy CEO, will assume responsibility for all aspects of finance as well as group strategy, legal, treasury, investor relations, and mergers and acquisitions, from 1 January 2016.

Mr Hodges has served as ANZ’s deputy CEO since May 2009, and has also held a range of other senior roles at the bank since 1991, including CEO of ANZ New Zealand and group managing director, corporate.

ANZ said the search for Mr Elliott’s permanent successor as CFO is expected to be completed in the New Year.

Last month, the bank appointed Scott Collary as its CIO and Huang Xiaoguang as the CEO of ANZ’s China operations.
