Iress appoints first BDM in Australia

Financial software company Iress has appointed Cagdas Deniz Ertem as its first business development manager for its mortgage software business in Australia.

The international technology company, which provides financial software to lenders, stockbrokers, financial advisers, investment managers and superannuation funds, has appointed its first BDM in Australia.

According to Iress, the role was created after seeing momentum in the growth of its mortgage sales and origination software MSO.

The MSO software is currently used to write one in four mortgages in the UK and was launched in Australia last year to help automate and simplify the mortgage sales and origination process.

Since then, it has been selected by neobanks Xinja and Volt to support the delivery of their upcoming mortgage offerings.

To help support the growth of the MSO software in Australia, Iress has announced that it has appointed NextGen’s senior customer success manager, Cagdas Deniz Ertem, to the newly created role of business development manager.

Mr Ertem has a range of financial services experience, having worked at NextGen for the past four years and at ING Australia for seven years before that.

He will start his new position on 14 October.

Speaking of the appointment, Steve Cormio, Iress’ general manager of mortgage technology in Australia, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Cagdas to the team. He has significant experience connecting clients with technology to help them drive better business outcomes.

“There is an increasing opportunity to help Australian lenders who want to improve the mortgage experience for customers, and this appointment will support them in achieving this.”

Mr Ertem commented: “I’m excited to be working with a new team and to broaden my horizons in terms of working with a global organisation.”
