CBA announces board changes

The major bank has appointed a new director to its board and announced the retirement of a current board member.

Commonwealth Bank (CBA) chairman Catherine Livingstone has announced the appointment of Anne Templeman-Jones to the role of independent non-executive director, effective immediately.

Ms Templeman-Jones has previously served as chairman of CBA’s financial advice companies, and she has held several leadership roles at Westpac, ANZ and the Bank of Singapore.

The non-executive director currently serves on the boards of HT&E Limited, GUD Holdings Limited, Citadel Group Limited and WorleyParsons Limited.

“It is with great pleasure I welcome Anne as a director of the bank. She will bring to the board experience in the financial services sector, as well as a breadth of risk management expertise, and we look forward to her contribution,” Ms Livingstone said.

Further, CBA has reported that Brian Long, who has served as director for eight years, will retire from the board at the conclusion of the 2018 AGM.

Mr Long served as chairman of the bank’s audit committee for seven years.

In its 2017 AGM, the major bank announced that Andrew Mohl, who has served on the board for 10 years, will also be retiring following the bank’s AGM later this year.

“I would like to thank both Andrew and Brian for their many years of service on the board. Their expertise and insights have been invaluable to the board’s deliberations over a number of years,” Ms Livingstone said.
