ANZ announces CFO replacement

The major bank has announced that its group general manager internal audit, Shane Buggle, will take on the role of acting chief financial officer from next month.

At the end of last year, the major bank confirmed that its chief financial officer, Michaelle Jablko, had resigned from her position to take up a role with road operator company Transurban.

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) has now announced that Ms Jablko will remain at ANZ until 26 March and will transition her duties over to ANZ’s group general manager internal audit, Shane Buggle, over the coming months.

Mr Buggle will officially become acting chief financial officer from 8 February, at which time Sandra Burns, ANZ’s current general manager internal audit, group functions, will assume the position of acting group general manager internal audit.

He took up his current role in 2018.

Outside of his ANZ career, Mr Buggle has held several senior roles in the finance industry, including as head of finance for Zurich Financial Services in Ireland and CFO of CPA Australia.

He is also a member of the Council of Monash University and has been Deputy Chancellor since 2015.

Mr Jablko will start her new role as Transurban’s new chief financial officer later this year and will be based in Melbourne.
