NAB names new group executive

NAB chief executive Andrew Thorburn has strengthened the group’s leadership team with the appointment of a new executive.

Lorraine Murphy joins NAB as group executive of people after working as the chief people officer at Air New Zealand since January 2013. With more than 20 years’ experience in HR, Ms Murphy has also held senior roles at the Campbell Soup Company (also known as Campbell’s), energy company AGL and food and beverage group Lion Nathan.

Mr Thorburn said Ms Murphy’s appointment is a very important one for NAB’s executive leadership team.

“I am very excited we have appointed a proven HR professional who has the experience and record in driving high-performance outcomes,” he said.

“Our vision is to be Australia and New Zealand’s most respected bank, and to achieve this we need to drive continuous change throughout our organisation.”

Ms Murphy said the opportunity to work alongside Mr Thorburn and the executive leadership team will be a rewarding experience.

“I am excited about this HR role and the opportunity to continue to help people realise their potential and be the best they can be,” she said.
